From Hotel Kongress to the Styrian capital city

Coach- and group tour to Graz

The capital of Styria is located on both sides of the River Mur in the south of Styria. With just under 300,000 inhabitants, Graz is the second largest city in Austria.

Immerse yourself in the UNESCO World Heritage in Graz

The historic center of Graz has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999. The decisive factors were the perfect state of preservation and the visibility of the historical development of the buildings. Eggenberg Palace has also been included since 2010. Graz has thus also committed itself to preserving the historical heritage and is trying to harmoniously integrate new architecture.

Explore Schlossberg and the old town

The Schlossberg is visible from afar in the center of the city. It towers 123 meters above Graz's main square on the left bank of the Mur. The former fortress on the Schlossberg was blown up after it had served as a defense against Napoleon's troops, among other things. The citizens of Graz bought the clock tower and the bell tower, both of which have been preserved to this day. The clock tower is the landmark of the city of Graz.

The Schlossberg can be reached by funicular railway, the Schlossberg lift or via numerous paths that lead up from all sides of the city. The most impressive ascent leads from Schlossbergplatz 260 steps up to the top of the mountain. Once at the top, it's worth taking a seat in one of the bars, cafès or restaurants and enjoying a drink while looking out over the rooftops of Graz.

The walk through the old town can also begin at the valley station of the Schlossberg cable car. From here you can stroll to the main square in 10 minutes. Graz's old town center offers countless shopping and dining opportunities. The walk through Graz also has a lot to offer architecturally, like the Landhaus, the first Renaissance building in Graz and today home to the Styrian Parliament.

Baroque jewel in Graz - the Eggenberg Palace

Eggenberg Palace is the largest Baroque palace in Styria. Its preserved original furnishings, extensive gardens and the collections of the Universalmuseum Joanneum make it one of Austria's most valuable cultural assets. Eggenberg Palace has also been part of the UNESCO World Heritage "City of Graz-Historical Centre and Eggenberg Palace" since 2010“.
